JSC Agricultural Credit Guarantee Fund (ACGF) started its activity on November 26th, 1997, after registering the company in the Register of Legal Entities of the State Enterprise Centre of Registers. The financial institution was founded on August 22nd, 1997, under the resolution no. 912 of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania.

The state owns 100 percent of the ACGF's shares. The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Lithuania is entrusted with the right of trust to manage, use and dispose of the shares. The company's authorized capital in 2018 December 31 amounted to 2.49 million Eur. It is divided into 860 ordinary registered tangible shares, the nominal value of one share of which is EUR 2,896.20.

The goal is to help economic entities that do not have enough mortgageable assets and financial resources to develop, create business, modernize farms and companies, produce competitive products, creating favourable borrowing conditions for them, to achieve the implementation of the state's social and political goals, as well as profitable activities.

The mission is to promote the economic development of the agricultural sector and the creation of alternative businesses in rural areas.

The strategic direction is the creation of more favourable borrowing conditions for business entities that do not have sufficient collateral, as well as the management of assumed risks.

The main functions of the ACGF:

  • provision of guarantees to credit institutions and leasing companies;
  • administration of state aid (partial compensation of guarantee premium and credit / leasing interest);
  • administration of loan funds;
  • administration of the compensation fund for licensed warehouses.
